Pilot Project - Who can participate?
We have launched a pilot project in September 2016 targeting the family physicians in the Chatham-Kent, Ontario area. We are planning to expand our coverage to other remote communities in Ontario and are now inviting family physicians and university undergraduate students to join us.
Physicians:
-
You are a family physician in Ontario with somewhat reduced access to support services/information services of major university libraries/teaching hospitals
-
You run on a busy schedule and have little or no time to do research.
-
You understand the limitations of undergraduate students in terms of knowledge, skills and time. You accept the fact that the search results might not always be 100% accurate or perfect.
Students:
-
You are a university undergraduate student in a natural science, health science, medical science or health discipline related program (e.g. nursing, pharmacy), who are interested in a career in medicine or healthcare.
-
You agree to try your best to learn about library research, either through us, or through your own university library course offerings.
-
We will provide basic training or provide a suggested reading list on how to search for scientific evidence and simple facts from reliable sources.
-
You will become an Evidence Seeker and we will assign you to a family physician.
-
You agree to keep research topics confidential and anonymous.
-
You understand that you cannot pick a particular physician. You agree to the match assignment made by us.
